From January 1984 through retirement in 2021, I served first on Active Duty in the USAF, first from Officer Training School to Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT), then to two consecutive operational and combat ready flying squadrons. After flying the T-37 and T-38 in UPT, I flew the C-23A throughout Europe and then the C-141B throughout the Europe, Mideast, India, Asia and South America, first as a Co-Pilot and then as an Aircraft Commander in each aircraft. After the First Gulf War in 1991, of which I am a Veteran, I came off of Active Duty, applied to and was hired by American Airlines, I then flew the C-141B in the US Air Force Reserves through retirement of the aircraft in 1997 and thereafter I held two staff positions. First for almost ten years, I served as a liaison for the US Air Force Academy and ROTC Appointments and then separately, as liaison for oversight of the Civil Air Patrol until entering the Retired Reserves. With American Airlines, I was hired in 1991, served six months as a B727 Flight Engineer and since then through retirement 35 years later, in June of 2026, I have flown the MD-80, B-737, B-757, B-767, B-777 and B-787 as a First Officer. In 2010, I first became a Captain for American on the B-737, followed by Captain positions on the B-757, B-767, B-777 and B-787, through retirement.
