Flight Attendant Jobs
The private aviation industry is an interesting place. Especially since the downturn in volume of corporate flights. One thing stands true is that flight attendant jobs will always be out there. There may not be as many out in the market but they do exist. In our experience finding quality employment is not guess work, it's leg work.
We work daily with two of the foremost flight attendant training institutions in the industry, Beyond and Above and Flight Safety. From what we here from them and what our statistics from Flycontract say, certain methods are very effective in acquiring flight attendant jobs.
Here is a list of tips and advice to help cabin attendants find favorable employment:
#1 : Flight Attendant jobs are easier to find in higher air traffic areas with more corporate aircraft such as Los Angeles County, North Eastern U. S. such as New York City and New Jersey City, South Florida and Washington D.C.
**By living closer to those airports you have a better chance of being called out for the first time from a new company. The reasoning behind this is, charter companies who use our website (sign up here) typically search for flight attendants who live close to their area. It makes there decision to try a new cabin attendant easier and less costly.
#2 : Network with other flight attendants. Why would you do that? Simple! When a flight attendant who already has a job is unavailable but wants to help out a flight attendant "friend" get some work he/she will call you. In turn you can call them when you need help.
#3 : Sign up for an online flight attendant jobs directory like the one you are on right now! Our online directory is searched by the largest staffing industries and corporate companies that hire frequently. Try Flycontract.com for a year you will see what we mean.
#4 : Don't be stagnant! Get yourself out there. Visit the Air Charter Guide and CharterMatrix and find heavy jets in your area. These companies will be the ones that are hiring for flight attendant jobs. Visit those airports or call and find out who you should give your resume to. #5 : Take a nice couple of professional pictures and make sure your resume is up to date with your current flying experience. Take a look at how other flight attendants are finding jobs and how they list themselves by clicking on the image to the right. |
#6 : Ever think of learning a new language? It will increase your possibilities and expand your search. We have quite a few companies that search for flight attendants that speak French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic and more. With that in mind post yourself on our website and display your skills to our international employers. They can search for free and do hire our members. We recently helped facilitate a flight attendant job for a month long road-show to Norway with stops in Spain, China and Japan.
